Women in Leadership

Information for Mentors

At YWCA, we strive to empower women in all aspects of their lives. Through our “Women in Leadership” program, we want to focus on building women’s confidence through supportive relationships, knowledge, and self-awareness. We hope to establish networks that will bolster young women as they begin their careers and create meaningful moments of connection for everyone involved.

We are currently seeking female-identifying* mentors for the inaugural year of our updated program. Mentors will meet virtually with mentees for 1-hour monthly meetings from October 2020-March 2021. They will also be invited to attend our annual dinner with their mentee in April 2021.

We ask that mentors have at least two years of professional experience and agree to uphold YWCA’s mission to empower women and eliminate racism. YWCA will provide conversation guides, based on monthly themes, for pairs to use during their meetings.

If you would like to share your career wisdom with a local young woman, please consider signing up to be a mentor!

Fill out an application here or email kate@ywcauofi.org for more information.

*We want to ensure that mentors can speak about the unique experience of being a woman in the workplace.
