Women in Leadership

Mentorship for college-age women

Women in Leadership (WIL) began 10 years ago as a project management internship for women students. Now, after a decade in action, we are updating this program to reflect the changing needs of today's participants. Starting in the 2020-21 school year, the program will shift to being mentorship-based. We hope to create immediate connection and long-term, supportive relationships for everyone involved.

The mentee application for the 2020-21 school year is closed. Please email kate@ywcauofi.org to be added to a list of interested mentees for 2021-22.

What does WIL offer for mentees?

WIL offers students the chance to develop supportive relationships with women who are advanced in their careers. Mentees can use their time in the program (and beyond) to learn what it's really like in the professional world. In addition to one-on-one connection, mentees will have access to presentations, small groups, and other resources on topics concerning women's careers.

Who is WIL for?

WIL is open to women-identifying people enrolled at the University of Illinois and Parkland College.
