Volunteer With Us
“Over the course of our history we have had thousands of people become members of the YWCA of the University of Illinois. Join the legacy of empowering women and eliminating racism for over 130 years in the Champaign-Urbana community.”
—Andrea Rundell, Executive Director
How do I become a volunteer for the YWCA?
Please take a minute to fill out this form, here. We will get back to you within two business days.
What is the time commitment for volunteering at the YWCA?
YWCA volunteers set their hours with the Program Coordinator, according to their schedules and the available volume of work. The YWCA office is open Monday through Friday from 9am-5pm. Volunteers fulfill their hours during the week or may be asked to assist with evening or weekend events.
We regret that we cannot accommodate volunteers who are not able to work regularly with us over several months.
What kinds of things to volunteers do? Right now we are looking for volunteers who are interested in helping out with office administration, marketing and outreach, and social media maintenance. The best way to learn about opportunities is to contact us and find out what's available for you!
Who can volunteer?
Anyone can volunteer! We are dedicated to diversity and inclusion and we welcome volunteers of all social backgrounds, including students, community members, and staff and faculty.
How many volunteers does the YWCA have?
We can commit to 2 to 4 volunteers each year. Ours is a small office with varying amounts of work throughout the school year and summer months.
Looking for a bigger commitment?
YWCA is recruiting board members for the 2019-2022 class. Board members are asked to attend monthly board meetings, raise funds and serve on one committee. For more information, email Andrea Rundell at email@example.com.
