Hold Tight: November 9, 2016

As an organization we are heartbroken at the outcome of the  the devastation that the proposed legislative agendas will have on all women and girls, all people of color, people with disabilities, LGBTQ people, people struggling economically, and many, many more. We are mourning the hatred and pain that is already occurring in the world and on campus as a result.

We are also recommitting ourselves to our mission, and our work to advance that mission here on campus.

We are proud to have participated in the "Hold Tight" installation created by Xuxa Rodriguez on the UIUC Main Quad this afternoon. Hundreds of campus community members came together to hold hands in support and solidarity in the face of the hatred we are experiencing.

What started solemn and tearful for us all ended in joyous dancing and continuous chanting of "Keep loving! Keep fighting!" Please check out the photo gallery on our home page for an uplifting look at people coming together.

Update! The Daily Illini covered our event. Check it out!
