Marketing & Development Specialist

Position: Full time, Hybrid, Exempt  

Salary Range: $45,000 - $47,000 

Reports to: Executive Director  

Supervises: Potential interns

The YWCA of the U of I is hiring a Marketing and Development Specialist to bring our life-changing work to life for community members, donors, and funders.

Job Summary

The Marketing and Development Specialist is responsible for managing all aspects of our marketing strategy.  This role will focus on implementing a successful, multi-layered, fundraising and communications strategy, to elevate the YW's community presence and engage stakeholders. This position requires strong communication skills and strong attention to detail.

Key Duties 

  • Implement the FY23 fundraising plan

  • Establishing an annual communications plan

  • Create a year-end appeal and annual report

  • Propose, oversee, and implement external communications and fundraising campaigns 

  • Track, evaluate, and report on the effectiveness of campaigns 

  • Support programmatic growth   

  • Supervision of a communications intern

Required Qualifications  

  • Demonstrated success in overseeing a range of development activities 

  • Experience setting and implementing marketing strategy and plans

  • Excellent organizational, project management and relationship building capabilities 

  • Familiarity with Google Workspace or related software 

  • Familiarity with Little Green Light or similar nonprofit CRMs 

  • Commitment to intersectional, feminist, anti-racist ideals and realities 

  • Professional, collaborative, consistent, and reliable work 

  • A sense of humor, a creative outlook, and the drive to help improve lives

  • Social media marketing 

  • Website management and SEO 

  • Visual marketing/design 

  • Events management 

  • Grant writing and management

Education 

  • BA in communications/marketing /fundraising OR substantial related experience

  • CFRE/AFP certification preferred

Schedule has flexibility, with occasional evenings and weekends required. Employees are expected to be in the office three times a week.
