We are hiring a new Program Coordinator! 

Strive is a partnership program between YWCA of the U of I, YWCA USA and Google.org to help close the digital gap for low-income women. We provide free education in the use of computers, the Google application suite, and internet tools, as well as more traditional training on essential workplace skills. Currently, Strive is delivered virtually; we expect to retain a hybrid model. The goal of the program is to provide training that helps women in our community gain the knowledge they need to access life-changing education and employment opportunities. 

Key Duties 

  • Coordinate our Strive Program  

    • Recruit and train participants, volunteers and program partners 

    • Teach basic digital skills and essential workforce skills 

    • Maintain and expand complementary partnerships with area organizations and businesses  

    • Conduct ongoing evaluation and improvement of the program 

    • Produce accurate and timely reporting of program status and successes throughout its life cycle 

  • Support our other anti-racism and women’s empowerment projects, including Stand Against Racism and EmpowHERment

  • Support our organizational growth and development  

 

Qualifications 

 

You have: 

  • Commitment to intersectional, feminist, anti-racist ideals and realities 

  • Dedication to meeting clients and participants where they are at in their lives 

  • Confidence with Google applications and the virtual environment

  • Professional, collaborative, consistent, and reliable teamwork 

  • Outstanding organizational and communication skills 

  • Initiative, the ability to set realistic expectations and to ask for help 

  • A sense of humor, a creative outlook, and a genuine desire to help improve lives

  • Marketing and design skills 

  • Event coordination 

  • Development & fundraising experience 

  • Social media & website management 

 

Details: Program Coordinator (Full time, exempt) 

Salary Range: $30,000 - $33,000 

Start Date: May/June 2021

Reports to: Executive Director 

Location: Flexible/work from home, some Champaign office presence required 

Work hours: 40 hours, flexible schedule, some evenings and weekends 

Benefits: Paid holidays, vacation and personal time; Vested in national retirement fund after two years; Healthcare Reimbursement Arrangement
